Meet Our Partner Ministries
Misfits is partnered with a number of different ministries. Some are local to us here in Canton, Ohio. Some are domestically focused on the US. Some are Internationally focused as well.
AGON Institute
The AGON Institute of Sports Outreach Ministry is the most uniquely focused course of study for anyone desiring to use Sport, Recreation and Fitness Outreach to reach those far from Jesus and His Church. The AGON is uniquely positioned to empower those called to the local church as well as the sports-related, para-ministry, chaplaincy and camping worlds. Students from all denominations, countries and continents are warmly encouraged to enroll and become a student in the AGON Institute of Sports Ministry.
REACHgathering
The hope fueling these efforts is that each attendee would leave the REACHgathering inspired, affirmed, connected, and equipped.
Over the course of three days you will have access to choose from dozens of breakout track sessions and be a part of three large group main sessions.
In addition to organized content by some of the leading sports ministry influencers in the world, REACH offers a Sponsor area to connect you to a host of helpful resources. You will leave changed and prepared for a year of ministry where you reach further.
TIQVAH
Tiqvah Hands of Hope started fall of 2009 and was modeled after a program in Chicago serving one of its most impoverished neighborhoods. With the goal of impacting children's lives body, mind, and soul; Tiqvah began developing relationships in the S.E. community center by helping students get homework done, provide meals on a daily basis, and encouraged creativity through different enrichment options. When we began to out-grow both the space at the community center as well as the space at the local church, we realized the Lord was calling us to help more than just the S.E. side of Canton. Tiqvah opened its first location in 2012 at St Pauls Episcopal Church, offering services to families that was already part of the Tiqvah Community. Soon, we were offered a partnership with the Canton City school district. They began bussing the children to us from 15 different schools. As we continued to grow both programming and attendance, we soon found a need for yet another move. Now in our current home, Christ Presbyterian, we are still serving Canton City Schools while loving our families.

Absurd Conference
God’s heart to reconcile all humanity to himself is demonstrated by crossing divides to redeem the societal outsider. While much of the world dehumanizes what is perceived as different or unknown, God constantly creates bridges in the pursuit of reconciliation and the redemption of all people.
In other words, there are no outsiders in the Kingdom of God. There are no segregated saints.
From this belief, the Absurd Conference was founded in Canton, Ohio. Absurd exists to see a reconciled world thriving in a celebration of Kingdom diversity. It's a 2-day conference that connects, equips, and empowers the Church for discussions and actions in the biblical foundations of diversity, justice, and reconciliation. This conference was proposed in 2018, brought to life in 2019, and it could not be more relevant now.
