Holy Discontent

John 6:68 Simon Peter answered, “Lord, who will we go to? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and know that You are the Holy One of God!”

We believe that all believers have a calling from God to see change happen in the community and world around them. This unquenchable desire to see the culture of a demographic change with the Gospel is what we refer to as #HOLYDISCONTENT. We want to share the stories of fellow Ministry Misfits that are changing the cultures around them through the Gospel, and learn from their experiences how best to deal with many of the issues we all face.

Romans 8:28-30
28 We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those He predestined, He also called; and those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified.

I Corinthians 9:15-18
15 But I have used none of these rights, and I have not written this to make it happen that way for me. For it would be better for me to die than for anyone to deprive me of my boast! 16 For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because an obligation is placed on me. And woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! 17 For if I do this willingly, I have a reward, but if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a stewardship. 18 What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my authority in the gospel.

II Timothy 4:1-5
I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and because of His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear something new. 4 They will turn away from hearing the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But as for you, be serious about everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
For those of us that are misfits within ministry, it can become very lonely, discouraging, and downright depressing at times. Knowing why we are doing it makes all the difference of how we respond in these situations. The Holy Discontent that we have, is a God given desire to see the Gospel bring change in a certain area, demographic, and our platform. This desire cannot be quenched regardless of the situation we find ourselves in, and it is the driving force for us to endure the hardship, so that we can fulfill the Ministry.
